We held our February club meeting in the club house at the Nicholes Field. President Bill Barlow started the meeting precisely on time at 10:15 AM. We said the Pledge of Allegiance.

We have a new member Wil Sudo. He flies a paraglider and is interested in our club. Also in attendance was Bernadette Streeter II. He’s been flying since 1970 and has flown helicopters and planes for the military. We also had a newer member, John Halas. He flies a powered parachute.

Our guest speaker is Ronrigo Serzedello. Mr. Serzedello is the chief executive officer for Creative Skies which is a drone company that puts on aerial displays at night with multicolored drones.

Treasurer Mark Novak was out of town and co-Treasurer Glenn Frehafer said we paid the EAA insurance and we still have more money than last month.

Membership: Mike Sandlin said we have 27 current members for the new year.

Mathieu Bertholino is making good progress on his airplane.

Al Sayder has been working on a radio noise reduction problem.

Larry Schultz repaired the welder.

Glenn Frehafer ran the engine on his GT400 and noticed an engine starvation fuel problem in the mid-3500 RPM range. It turned out that the problem was an over tightened fuel line on a plastic fuel fitting.

Oscar Gonzales introduced our guest speaker Rodrigo Serzedello of Creative Skys, 619-987-4496, CreativeSkies.com. Rodrigo’s company produces aerial drone shows at night. They recently produced the Pechanga Casino’s anniversary show with over 600 aerial drones. He showed several videos and slides of the show. It features aerial maneuvering by the drones with changing-colored lights in different displays including the name of the casino and various images. The show was coordinated with a fireworks display. Normal flight time for the shows run about 15 to 17 minutes. Pricing for a small operation of 200 drones say for a wedding would cost about $8,000. The drones are expensive at about $1,000

apiece.

Glenn Frehafer won $30 in the raffle with $30 going to the club.

Lots of people attended our club meeting. The meeting ended at 11:30 AM.

The Prez brought the meeting to an end at 11:55 AM
